Here in Northern California, a lot of shovel work is required this time of year on the rice farm. We’re working hard to drain the rice fields of the winter water that has been decomposing rice straw, left behind after last year’s harvest. That’s about all we’re doing this far into the 2019 crop year.
However, I did feature a ton of shovel work in my previous two episodes of Rice Farming TV so my wife requested that the next episode (this episode) have no shovel work. “The mud and grunting is disgusting,” she says.
So, as per her request: no shovel work in this video. I Promise? Thanks for watching and please subscribe to stay updated with more videos about how rice is grown in California.
